I remember when I was a kid, and my mom made me (at least) taste the veggies on my plate at dinner time before I could dismiss eating them at all. When I was young and immature, I wanted what tasted good, and could not appreciate the benefits of what whole, live foods could do for me. 1 Corinthians 13:11 says, "When I was a child, I used to talk as a child, think as a child, reason as a child; when I became a man/woman, I put aside childish things". Now that I am a mature adult, I now know that processed foods (packaged snacks, lunch meat, sweets, white bread, rice, pasta, etc.) are dead foods, lacking nutrients, and contain chemicals that kill the body. If you want to know why you lack energy, have high blood pressure, are overweight, etc, etc, etc., you can link that to your avoidance of whole and nutrient rich foods (food packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that support various bodily functions…e.g. fruits and vegetables and whole grains).

We know that fruits and vegetables are essential for our bodies for a variety of reasons.
For instance, vitamin C (found in citrus fruits) boosts the immune system, while potassium (found in bananas and potatoes) helps regulate blood pressure.
Low in Calories: They are generally low in calories and high in water content, making them ideal for maintaining a healthy weight. Including more fruits and vegetables in your diet can help you feel full without consuming too many calories.
Hydration: Many fruits and vegetables have high water content, contributing to overall hydration, which is important for bodily functions, including temperature regulation and joint lubrication.
Disease Prevention: Regular consumption of fruits and vegetables is associated with a lower risk of many diseases, including heart disease, stroke, and some cancers. Their antioxidants help combat oxidative stress and inflammation in the body.
You can lift weights, dance, run, box, etc., but you cannot outrun a bad diet. What you put in your body matters. Let 4H support and assist you with reaching your wellness goals. Until the end of November, we want to offer our classes to you at low cost (pay what you can), or free of charge (if you are unable to pay at all). We believe in radical commitment, radical perseverance/endurance, and radical generosity.
