Consuming water is vital to our health.  It plays a key role in many of our body’s functions, including bringing nutrients to cells, getting rid of wastes, protecting joints and organs, and maintaining body temperature.  Water is also a universal representation of life since no human, plant or animal can live without it.

So why is it so hard for people to drink an adequate amount of water daily to keep their bodies functioning at their best?  As a health and fitness enthusiast, I have heard it all.  Many just say they dislike water/they don’t like the taste of it, and drink as little water as possible.  Others just don’t get enough water because they opt for sugary and or caffeinated drinks believing they will suffice.  But not drinking a minimum of 64 ounces of water a day (more if you are a physically active person) can lead to dehydration.  Moderate to severe dehydration can cause some very serious health concerns affecting the brain, kidneys, heart and more. Common symptoms of dehydration include headaches, cramps, fatigue, skin problems and body fat retention.

Our bodies, from our skin to our cells, are made up of mostly water…..60%.  So don’t deny your body what it needs, and it will serve you well.

John 4:14  … Jesus said…“Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst.  Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

In Him,

Angie
